Abstract:

Aerobic granular sludge is a new type of environmental biological treatment material，and by the virtue of its compact structure，microbial diversity and excellent settling property，it has attracted the attention of researchers in the field of biological treatment of sewage concerns. This paper summarizes the formation process，structure，and characteristics of aerobic granular sludge. Meanwhile the application of aerobic sludge granulation is reviewed，including toxic organic wastewater treatment，dairy wastewater treatment，nitrogen and phosphorus removal， removal of heavy metals and dyes，granule removal，and nuclear waste removal.
