Abstract: Methyl dihydroxyethyl allyl ammonium chloride(MDAAC)was synthesized from N-methyl diethanolamine( MDEA )and allyl chloride by the solvent-free synthesis method.The effects of reaction time, reaction temperature and reactant molar ratio on reaction conversion rate were studied.The optimum process of synthesizing MDAAC obtained by orthogonal experiment was 60 min reaction time, 50℃ reaction temperature and 1∶1.3 molar ratio of MDEA and allyl chloride.The target product was purified by recrystallization and the yield of product was 97%.The structure of product was characterized by IR,1H NMR and 13C NMR.
