Abstract: Biomass is a kind of alternative feedstock to fossil fuel resources,such as oil and coal.A new kind of biomass-chemical industry will come into being,similar to modern chemical industries based on oil and coal.This paper gives a review on the development of biomass-based chemical industry, and also discusses the problems and how to solve them in the future.
