Abstract:
Experimental investigation was conducted to explore the heattransport capability of pulsating heat pipe (PHP) working with different working fluidsThe heat transfer characteristics of PHP with water as working fluid were studied under different liquid filling rates, different heat loads and different inclination angles (0°and 90°).The heattransport capabilities of pulsating heat pipes with different working fluids (FS39E microcapsule fluid, water, Al2O3 nanofluid) were comparedThe results showed that the heattransport capability of PHP could be enhanced by using functional thermal fluids (FS39E microcapsule fluid and Al2O3 nano-fluid) as working fluid under specific conditionWhen using vertical bottom heating mode (inclination angle=90°), 1% FS-39E microcapsule fluid was the better working fluidWhen using horizontal heating mode (inclination angle=0°), 0.1% Al2O3 nanofluid was the better working fluidBut the stability of microcapsule fluid was much better than Al2O3 nanofluid
