First Announcement

The Sixth International Symposium on Gasification and its Application (ISGA-6)  will be held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China, on October 25-28, 2018. The coming ISGA will continue its successes achieved in past events after being kickoff in Shanghai, China in 2008 , and then in Fukuoka, Japan in 2010, Vancouver, Canada in 2012, Vienna, Austria in 2014, and Busan, Korea in 2016. Furthermore, the ISGA-6 will be held in conjunction with the 2018's National Engineering Thermochemistry Symposium（NETS-2018）of China.

BACKGROUND

Gasification is a key technology for efficiently and environment-friendly converting solid carbon resources including coal, biomass and organic wastes into high-grade clean energies and high-value products. Our society has used energies in gas and liquid forms, and gasification of solid-form energies and materials has to be an important option of technical routes for the transformation of fuels from low grade to high grade.

This Sixth International Symposium on Gasification and its Application (ISGA-6) is aimed to promote and disseminate the state-of-the-art knowledge and advancements concerning all topics related to fundamentals and technologies in gasification and its applications. It will bring together researchers, engineers, scientists and experts in universities, companies, institutions, communities, agencies, associations and all possible organizations to provide the attendees an exclusive platform for sharing worldwide ideas and recent developments on gasification and its applications.

This ISGA-6 will also celebrate the 10^th anniversary of ISGA-series events that have accomplished successful and fruitful symposiums and academic publications as special issues in renowned international journals. The so-called ISGA Academy Awards will be launched and assigned to highly cited papers in special issues published for previous ISGA symposiums. Plenary lectures will be also planned for successful commercialization of new technologies in past ten years in the area related to gasification and its application. The symposiums of ISGA series also expect to explore the unusual roles of gasification and its related application technologies in resolving challenges of energy, process industries, global warming and sustainability.

This Symposium will be composed of fully interactive meeting sessions and a technical tour to plants bases on gasification or catalytic conversion in China. Like the earlier conferences of ISGA, ISGA-6, in conjunction with the 2018's National Engineering Thermochemistry Symposium (NETS 2018), will arrange plenary and keynote lectures, oral and poster presentations. An awarding session will highlight the new development of ISGA-6.

TECHICAL TOUR

A tour full of culture and technical elements to Luzhou Laojiao Corporation, Limited, is planned to visit the entire brewage process of solid-state fermentation for production of Chinese Distilled Spirit and also a Commercial Low-NOx Gasifcation-Combustion Plant for treating 60 000 ton/year Distilled Spirit Lees, the biomass waste from such a brewage process. It is about 300 kilometers away from Chengdu, and bus transportation will be arranged between Chengdu and Luzhou. One-day accommodation in Luzhou city is needed for this technical visit so that the tour will depart from Chengdu in the late afternoon of Oct 27^th 2018.
