Abstract:
The influences of rare-earth promoter Yb and two impregnation methods (co-impregnation and stepwise impregnation)on the activity, carbon deposition resistance and sintering resistance of Ni/γ-Al2O3 reforming catalysts were studied and compared with other two rare-earth promoters, La and Ce.The catalyst was characterized with BET, XRD, TPR, H2 chemisorption and TG to investigate the possible mechanism of influence.The addition of rare-earth enhances the dispersion of active metal nickel effectively, consequently improve the catalytic activity, carbon deposition resistance and sintering resistance of the catalysts, the co-impregnation makes the active metals more difficult to be reduced, which influences the catalytic activities in the low temperature region.For improving the activity, the ranking is Yb>Ce>La, and for improving the carbon deposition resistance, the ranking is Ce>Yb>La.The reforming activity of Yb modified Ni/γ-Al2O3 catalyst is higher than that of two commercial catalysts which are Ni based reforming catalysts belong to Süd-Chemie and Sichuan Ally.
